Midweek Services

It is the duty and joy of the church to offer up daily prayer and worship to God.

Our midweek services are short, calm and reflective.

Our usual pattern of midweek services is:

A said Mass of about 30 minutes, at which Bible and gospel readings are read and we are given spiritual strength in the blessed sacrament.

Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays &  Fridays at 5.30pm

Wednesdays at 6.30pm.

Saturdays at 9.30am

Exposition & Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament

An oasis of calm in a busy week: half an hour of silent prayer in the presence of Jesus in  the Blessed Sacrament. Christ has so much to tell us but do we stop and try to listen?  This is the perfect opportunity. At its conclusion we receive Christ's blessing.

Wednesdays at 5.30pm

Evening Prayer

Psalms are recited and prayers offered.  The service lasts about 15 minutes.

Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays &  Fridays at 5.10pm.  Wednesdays at 5.30pm (before the Blessed Sacrament)

Rosary and Evening Prayer

In praying the rosary we ask the Virgin Mary to join her prayers with ours.

We occupy our mouths with our prayers and our fingers with the beads so that our hearts may be directed to Christ. Praying the rosary is especially good when we are perturbed and find it hard to concentrate.

Saturdays at 4pm, May to September, followed by Evening Prayer.

Stations of the Cross

Meditation on the suffering of Jesus as we walk the Way of the Cross around the church. Followed by a short Mass.

Fridays in Lent at 5.30pm.
