Welcome to All Saints - The home of the anchorites
All Saints' Church contains the anchorhold, the cell of an anchorite, a solitary mystic who willingly isolated herself from the distractions of the world, to unite herself more closely to Christ and devote her life to prayer. She gave counsel to all who came to her window. May the example and prayers of the anchorites help us to embrace our current challenges, to draw closer to God and support one another.
The anchorhold is situated beside the high altar, and an opening in the wall enabled her to view the tabernacle which still contains the Blessed Sacrament of the body of Christ. The people of this church also form the body of Christ. At present we are dispersed in our homes.
Due to the lockdown, our churches sadly have to be kept closed. Fr Adrian and Fr Joshua will continue to offer the sacrifice of the Mass and the daily office of prayer in their homes. The Sunday Parish Mass will be live-streamed at 10am from The Rectory on our Facebook Page. We will be also offering a full Holy Week and Easter programme with live-streaming. Our Sunday addresses will be posted on the Sermons page. Information and ideas for sustaining prayer and worship in a domestic setting will be found on our Facebook Page and on our Twitter.
We have set up a chain of support for church members. If you are not a church member but are need in need of practical, emotional or spiritual support, please contact us, and we will try to help you. You are most welcome to be added to our chain of support or receive our regular email communications; please contact Fr Adrian at AdrianRLing@btinternet.com or Fr Joshua at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our parish area of responsibility covers the southern half of King's Lynn, extending south from the Millfleet, Hillington Square, The Friars and The Chase areas, taking in South Lynn and West Lynn. However our network of friends and supporters also extends out across the town, into surrounding villages and beyond.
Public weddings and baptisms cannot take place. However if there is need of an emergency baptism, please contact Fr Adrian.
Funerals can only take place privately at the graveside or at a crematorium. However, once the all-clear is sounded, our churches will be available to hold memorial services to celebrate the lives of those we could not honour in public.
The most famous anchorite is Mother Julian of Norwich; she received from God the eternal message of assurance, "All Shall be Well."
Let us trust God and keep praying that through his providence all shall indeed be well.
Wishing you God's blessing
Father Adrian & Fr Joshua
